The Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC, Dr. Aminu Maida, has assured of his commitment at ensuring that Nigeria’s telecommunications sector meets global standards.

The NCC he said has actively sought partnerships globally in its quest to enhance the industry’s capacity.

Dr. Maida stated this during a recent meeting with the Swedish Ambassador to Nigeria, Her Excellency Annika Hahn-Englund. Both parties discussed ongoing collaboration between the NCC and Sweden, focusing on capacity building and skills development.

Dr. Maida highlighted the opportunities for NCC staff to learn from their Swedish counterparts and implement best practices in the sector, while stressing the importance of knowledge exchange, in line with the strategic plan of the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani.

Ambassador Hahn-Englund on her part reaffirmed the Swedish Embassy’s commitment to strengthening the relationship with Nigeria, emphasizing the mutual benefits of improved diplomatic and economic ties between the two countries.

The meeting between the NCC and the Swedish government is indicative of a promising future for collaboration in the telecommunications sector, with a focus on knowledge sharing and skill development.
