FiBOP Sets For 2025 Youth Capacity Building On ICT, Insurance, Financial Literacy

The Finance and Online Publishers Association (FiBOP) has put in motion plans for the second edition of its capacity building and empowerment programme for youths In Lagos State.

The programme is aimed at impacting the youth with the knowledge of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), insurance and financial literacy to equip them with the skill set required for future leadership roles.

This year’s event themed “Empowering Nigerian Youths with Knowledge of Insurance, Digital Payment and Investment to Drive Financial Inclusion,” slated for April 2025, at the MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos, is part of FiBOP’s initiative to promote financial literacy and awareness among youths and secondary school students in Lagos and other states of the federation.

Over 300 Senior Secondary School students and teachers are expected from various educational districts In Lagos State to participate in the programme.

Commenting on the programme, FiBOP President, Charles Onwuatogwu, who is also the publisher of BusinessUpdate Newspaper, highlighted the importance of the event to the participants and the nation as whole.

He said the programme which is part of FiBOP’s initiative to promote financial literacy and awareness among secondary school students in Lagos and other states of the federation, aims to equip Senior Secondary Schools (SSS) students with valuable insights in ICT, insurance, financial literacy, and investment, as well as provide opportunities for them to engage with industry experts and government officials.

“We believe that this programme will contribute significantly to the students’ understanding of the complexities of insurance and the financial ecosystem, equipping them with the knowledge and skill set required for future leadership roles and contributions to the nation’s economic growth,” Onwuatogwu said.

Expected to grace the event are key stakeholders in the Insurance, ICT, and financial sector.

Highlights of the event will be the celebration of some notable figures who are not only seen as sources of inspiration for the upcoming generations but as good ambassadors in their respective fields.

FiBOP is a duly registered association of online publishers with a clear mandate to build capacity and make impactful contributions to the growth and development of the Nigerian economy and the continent of Africa as a whole.
